I’m Emma, I started my freelance design company after ten years’ experience working in creative agencies and magazine publishing, across a range of projects, from branding, logos, exhibitions, magazines, and lots of different forms of literature and stationery.
My diverse range of experience means I have worked with everyone from corporates, through to start-up companies and charities. Running my own business has allowed me not only to follow my passions as a designer but also to work around my young family on the outskirts of Bristol.

Do you have existing designs which you need to update? I have 15 years’ experience in working to brand guidelines, hitting the ground running, and delivering on time. Whether you need the finishing touches added to your design, an existing template amended or just someone that can bring all your design elements together, I can help. I can also be available remotely to give a bit of extra assistance to design and marketing agencies needing an extra pair of hands. I can blend seamlessly into your team and turn around your artwork when you need it.

Branding is much more than just your logo, it’s the tone of voice you set, the impression you give. It is going to be one of the most important assets you have so it’s worth the time taken to perfect and get it right. I can help you to create a brand identity, colour scheme, imagery, and brand guidelines, and I am passionate about helping to shape that vision from the very start. I can also work with you to update your existing logo and branding, give it a refresh, and make sure it is still working hard for you and attracting the right customers. How does the design process work?
When you work with me, we work together as a team. I will ask you who your target audience is and what you are aiming to get across, so I can start the process of creating something wonderful for you. The way it works is collaborative – I will email you a PDF with some initial layouts on, and from there you can mix and match the parts you like. We can go back and forth, refining it from there until it is 100% perfect for you.
I believe that every business is unique, and that’s why I think it’s really important that you get to know your designer and be able to speak to the same person each time you get in touch. That way, we can build a lasting relationship where I can understand your business and its needs. Therefore, I am the one at the end of an email or a phone call, and I will personally work on your designs to create something special.
How long is the turnaround?
Once you have booked your project in, I will advise you when my next slot will be. As long as you’ve sent any files I’ve requested over in time to start, I will usually be able to send initial proofs for review within a week. We can then make any changes as necessary, and this will depend on how quickly you can get feedback to me. If you have a tight deadline which you need to meet, please discuss this with me at the time of booking and I will do my best to accommodate it.
Can you create my brand?
Absolutely. I have worked with lots of start-ups to create a vision that is right for them and their unique audience. It is important to think about your target audience and how you want them to feel at every touchpoint they have with your brand.

Can you source printing for me?
I can source printing for my design clients if you would prefer to get everything done in one place, or simply want someone who speaks the jargon! I always include print-ready PDF files as standard so you can take the designs and get them printed at your leisure if required.
What is your daily rate?
I do not have a daily rate as such. Instead, I like to offer fixed project costs to all my clients, so you always know what the budget will be and can plan your campaigns accordingly.
What are your payment terms?
A 50% deposit will get your project secured into my next slot in the diary, and the balance is not payable until you have approved the final designs. The balance will be due prior to releasing the final files or sending to print.
Where are you based?
My home studio is based in BS24, in my wonderful hometown of Weston-super-Mare, just outside Bristol. After studying and working all over Bristol for many years, I have hopped just down the M5, but it doesn’t feel far – I have very fond memories of many different parts of the city, including Hotwells, Southville, and Bradley Stoke and indeed am very much still connected to the city, with clients all over!
