Bristol City Sightseeing Open Top Tourbus

The Bristol City Sightseeing Open Top Tourbus is one of the very best ways to see Bristol. The original Tour of Bristol started in 1975 and has been going from strength to strength until joining the City Sightseeing organisation 4 years ago.

These highly recognisable bright red buses provide a very high standard of travel for passengers and all the drivers have vast experience of driving around Bristol.

All the tours have a fully trained guide who will help you discover the history and heart of Bristol. You will have the advantage of seeing from high up on the bus the historical sights and attractions and if you are very lucky your guide may be a true Bristolian to give that special extra something to the commentary. All the guides have a great love for the City and there are individual headsets provided in order that they may be heard clearly. Operating daily for 6 months of the year between mid March to 25th September you can hop on and off with a 24 hour ticket at most of the major historical sights and attractions. Discount vouchers are also available along with special free children’s packs with competitions and quizzes to keep them amused.

Private buses or coaches are also for hire for groups with a personal guide. You can also choose where you wish to go. You may be celebrating a special event for friends and family or have a particular theme in mind for business or for special visitors to the City. Help is available for finding the right programme for you day or evening or you might like just an entertaining mystery tour.

There are Blue Badge Guides for guided walking tours around Bristol allowing you to discover those sights you can’t see from the bus. There is a programme of friendly walks in the summer. Some such as Bristol Highlights, Maritime Bristol, Brunel’s Clifton and Over the Bridge Walks can take 2 hours or you may arrange a walk specially tailored to suit. You can choose from the Slave Trade, Wine, Clifton Society and Theatres. You could try Pirate Pete’s highly individual adventure packed fun walk with his tales of the Pirates of Bristol. All themed walking tours leave from the Visitor Information Centre at the Harbourside.
