Clifton Suspension Bridge Visitor Centre
A fascinating visitor centre with displays showing the history,
construction and maintenance of this historic bridge which is the symbol
of the city of Bristol. Designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel it was
completed as long ago as 1864.
Matthew of Bristol
This beautiful ship is a modern recreation of the ship in which explorer
John Cabot sailed from Bristol to North America 500 years ago. The ship
is now available for harbour cruises and special celebration events and
even offshore sailing.
SS Great Britain
The magnificent and famous first iron steam powered ship, the SS Great
Britain was built in 1843 by the Great Western Steamship Company.
Designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, she now lies in dry dock where she
is being painstakingly restored.
